]]> Johnstown — Broken Spoke Saloon is a tradition at the country’s most popular motorcycle rallies: At the base of Bear Butte in Sturgis, under the canopy of trees in Daytona or by the water in Laconia.

Now, it’s coming to Johnstown.

The popular biker bar will rock Thunder in the Valley the weekend of June 21-24, organizers said last week.

“We knew Thunder had arrived when Broken Spoke representatives contacted us late last year,” Lisa Rager, executive director of the Greater Johnstown/Cambria County Convention & Visitors Bureau, said at a press conference at the soon-to-be-opened Peoples Natural Gas Park across from Point Stadium in downtown Johnstown.

“We believe the Spokes’ presence here will provide rally attendees with a fun and enjoyable experience.”

From humble beginnings 15 years ago, Thunder in the Valley is expected to attract more than 225,000 bikers from across the nation.
